Who we are
Welcome to Wonder Way Adventures!
We’re Henriette (Danish) and Robert (Canadian), nature lovers living in the stunning Sierra de las Nieves since 2015. Inspired by our love for hiking and mindful “wonder walks,” we invite you to explore the peace and beauty of these magical mountains.
Our story began in 2003 when we met in Thailand. At the time, Rob was running a small adventure company, and Henriette was pursuing her master’s degree in Bangkok. From there, our journey took us to Vietnam, where we worked with local artists, commissioning pieces that we brought to Vancouver, Canada, to open a gallery.
In Vancouver, we fell in love with hiking and camping in the surrounding mountains while raising our first son, Lucas. In 2010, we moved to Hong Kong, where our second son, Kasper, was born. Hong Kong surprised us with its incredible hiking trails, as it’s mostly natural parks – perfect for outdoor adventures.
Magical Mountains
In 2015, we moved to the Costa del Sol, settling in the serene mountains of the Sierra de las Nieves. It is here that our passion for hiking has deepened, and we’ve discovered a magical world of peace and beauty just behind the bustling coastline.
The name Wonder Way comes from one of Henriette’s favorite activities: going on “wonder walks” with her good friend, Nina. On these walks, we slow down, open our senses, and marvel at the small miracles of nature – a colorful butterfly, a fascinating leaf, or the way sunlight filters through the trees. It’s this sense of wonder and mindfulness that we hope to share with you.
